About Melissa
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Rhode Island and I have been practicing since 2022. I received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College in May of 2022. Since starting graduate school, I have had an interest in the perinatal population. This stemmed from my own postpartum and parenting experience. I obtained a certification in perinatal mental health counseling from Postpartum Support International (PSI) in 2025.
My scope of practice has expanded to women’s mental health; although I have worked with many men who are experiencing shifts in identity as well. I am also a certified Grief-Informed Counselor, as grief counseling is also one of my passions. Through my lens of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, there is acknowledgement that there are difficult parts of life, and denial and avoidance only leads to more suffering. Therefore, acceptance and recognition of our deeper emotions and thoughts can lead to healing and commitment to behavior change.
